Today its all about selecting the bikes and checking them out; exploring some of the sights in Kathmandu and checking out the local food.

We had the first of two major briefings. This one had to do with logistics and healthcare.
Tomorrow we have the briefing on the trip. We thought if we shared these - you might find it interesting in case anyone is tempted to do the Lhasa to Kathmandu on a cycle!
Oh did not do the podcast for the iPad2 draw - but we have a winner and her name is Shivani and we are in touch with her
Its day 1 in Kathmandu for the team. They are about to arrive. so this is just a preview. I might do two more podcasts - one of the briefing and perhaps one of the live draw for the iPad 2 for some of our generous donors!
Continuing my experiment with podcasting before my trip - its easy and yet its not. Our podcasts are going to remain rough around the edges but the focus is always going to be about what we're doing, where we are and the ups and downs of the trip.
In this podcast - since we don't leave till 29th (me on the 28th) July - I am talking about my trials of podcasting using simple equipment and Audacity to 'edit' - struggling with that; preparing for the trip.

This is the first podcast of some of the members of the team.
We were up early (before the crack of dawn) so Carol, Jane, Adrian and Damien could get in some long distance cycling before it got to hot.
Here is a brief chat at breakfast after the team had cycled close to 60Kms on their bikes.
These will continue as conversations.
Enjoy!
